(1) what you accomplished this week
– sensing keyboard pressure with arduino
– make arduino value to send it to processing
– get ‘key’ color change by pressure
(2) problems, unexpected discoveries, etc
– make enough different average pressure value enough to sense the keyboard typing
(3) goals for next week
– measure duration of key pressed
– make outline thicker by the duration

The weight of words
Our lives are dependent upon language. We can’t communicate much without those letters of words. If we have a feeling, we use words to describe it. If we have an experience, through words we try expressing it. Our words carry our personality, our perspective, our core beliefs. This work shows the weight of the words we use.
Users will type down the words as they put weight on keyboards, by the instruction on the table. The pressure sensor attach to the keyboard will detect the pressure of the each letters and send it to Arduino. By the value of the pressure the letters on the screen will sink down and comes up again. After typing is done it will measure the weight by pressure + positive or negative and shows on the meters.
Basically the technology of this work is Arduino and physic library. I concentrated on the weight as how people seriously use there word. To measure the seriousness I decided to use the pressure of the keyboard as we to put our body weight to the words. And by measuring positive and negative meanings it will show how users emotions are stacked.
